Four non-governmental organisations (NGO) today submitted a protest letter against French magazine Charlie Hebdo which published insulting cartoons of Prophet Muhammad last month.Pertubuhan Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM); Ikatan Rakyat Insan Muslim Malaysia (IRIMM); Pertubuhan Ikatan Usahawan Kecil dan Sederhana Malaysia (Ikhlas); and Pertubuhan Permuafakatan Ayahanda Malaysia (Permas) sent the memorandum of protest to a representative from the French embassy in Kuala Lumpur this morning.IRIMM president Amir Amsaa Alla Pitchay said among the contents of the memorandum was for Charlie Hebdo to stop actions insulting Prophet Muhammad which had sparked rage among Muslims worldwide.Meanwhile, MJMM president Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah has warned all parties against playing up the issue of religion as the Muslims would rise against them.Two militants on January 7 attacked the satirical magazine’s office in Paris, killing 12 including its editor and cartoonist Stéphane Charbonnier. – Bernama, January 23, 2015.
